Baby in Prescott Sickened by Carbon Monoxide Leak

For the second time in less than a week, firefighters in the tri-city area had to respond to a carbon monoxide leak.

On Monday around 10:30 a.m,, units from the Prescott fire department were called to a home in the Ho-Kay-Gan subdivision to a report of an infant having a seizure. When firefighters started to assess the condition of the 22-month-old, their carbon monoxide detectors went off. Personnel from Unisource were brought in and determined the leak came from a faulty furnace, resulting in carbon monoxide poisoning to the baby and the other occupants of the home. Prescott fire officials say everyone involved is expected to make a full recovery.

Friday night, the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority dealt with a CO leak at the sonic drive-in in chino valley that sickened several workers. Fire officials urge everyone to have carbon monoxide detectors in your homes and businesses.
