Drought conditions for Yavapai county are the same as they were last week. According to the u-s drought monitor, most of the county is in moderate drought. The southeast corner of the county, including black canyon city, is in severe drought.
As for the rest of state, much of central and southern Arizona is in either severe drought or moderate drought. Some areas of southeastern Arizona are in extreme drought. Most of northern and western Arizona is either in moderate drought or abnormally dry.
In spite of the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott national forest is low. Still, visitors to the forest are urged to exercise caution with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
