On the heels of last weekend’s Tiger Invitational, in which three of their wrestlers took 2nd place in their weight classes, the Chino Valley wrestling team faced off against their rivals, Camp Verde, Tuesday. This Yavapai County dual was never much in doubt for the Cougars as they upended the Cowboys 54-24. Matt Duran, Braden Griffith, and Caden Call all won by pin. Coach Ricky Herrera also moved up some of his J-V grapplers to give them some varsity experience.

Only one more regular season match remains for Chino Valley. Next Wednesday, they will host the Legler Cup, which features several local high school teams, including Prescott and Bradshaw Mountain. After that, the Cougars compete in the Division Four West Section Tournament, which takes place at Buckeye High School on February 10th.
