Two Catch 22 Fugitives Apprehended

1/25/24

Two fugitives in the latest installment of the Yavapai Silent Witness Catch 22 program have been caught. On Monday, Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the Prescott Valley area and located Armando Juan Gamez. Gamez was wanted on a probation violation warrant out of Yavapai County, along with multiple warrants for drugs, weapons, aggravated assault, and armed robbery per domestic violence.

Acting on information from the public, the deputies located Gamez and took him into custody without incident. Gamez is now in custody at the Yavapai County Jail. This successful apprehension demonstrates the collaboration between our law enforcement community and the public, working together to enhance the safety of our streets in Yavapai County.

In addition, the Day 8 fugitive, Joel Hughes, has been captured.

An alert Prescott Valley Police Officer observed Hughes walking down the street. Knowing that Hughes was wanted on outstanding felony warrants and was a Catch 22 fugitive, he was arrested without incident.
