Embry-Riddle Baseball Opens 2024 Season With a Victory

1/26/24

A slugfest to begin the season: The Embry-Riddle baseball team kicked off the 2024 season in Phoenix at the Coach Calderone Tournament and absolutely thrashed Olivet Nazarene, going up 13-0 after six innings. Then, the Tigers’ bats got hot and plated run after run. The Eagles’ pitchers managed to stop the bleeding and secure the 13-10 win on Thursday.

Drew Barragan homered and drove in three runs for Embry-Riddle. Travis Strickler and Kevin Fedoruk also went yard, and Jacob Aguirre drove in two runs. Aiden Vestbie was the winning pitcher, striking out four.

The Eagles face Mid-American Nazarene today in day two of the tournament. Tomorrow, Embry-Riddle has two games against Oklahoma Panhandle State and SAGU American Indian College.
