It was not the beginning to their season the Embry-Riddle softball team was looking for. In their first game of the day Thursday at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, the Lady Eagles faced Vanguard and managed just three hits off them in a 5-0 loss. Whatever frustrations Riddle had after that game, they took them out on Carroll College later in the day. Riddle came out of the gates with their bats on fire and flattened the Fighting Saints 9-1. Emma Almodoba drove in three runs. Lily Anderson tripled and had two RBIs. She also scored three runs. Anise Romo went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Claire Streeter was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts.
The Lady Eagles have two more games today at Arizona Christian University as they take on the College of Idaho and Arizona Christian.
