Prescott Congressman Eli Crane Wants no Charges for Man who Stopped Criminal in NYC

2/5/24

Prescott-area Congressman Eli Crane has a message for New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg: Don’t prosecute the former Marine who subdued a criminal on the subway.

Last May, Daniel Penny grappled with Jordan Neely, who posed a threat to other passengers. Neely, who had 42 prior arrests, died during the struggle. Penny was indicted on manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide charges.

Crane stated, “When soft-on-crime prosecutors, like yourself, fail to address lawlessness and debauchery in their cities, Americans such as Daniel Penny are having to protect themselves and others now more than ever in the face of a rising crime rate. As the left continues to push the defund the police movement, it is imperative that you do not condemn and persecute good Samaritans who are stopping criminals.”
