It looks like their win over Mingus in the regular season finale last Friday did the trick. The Prescott boys soccer team made it to the state play-in. They are the number 23 seed. The Badgers will have to travel to Tucson to take on number ten seed Amphitheater. Prescott is 9-7 overall on the season, while the Panthers are 10-6-1 overall.
Two other teams from the Grand Canyon Region also qualified for the state tournament. Both Bradshaw Mountain and Flagstaff finished in the top eight, giving them the bye for the play-in round. The state play-in round takes place tomorrow. The state tournament proper begins February 13th, with the championship game February 23rd at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix.
On the girls side, Prescott finished in the top eight. They skip the play-in round and will compete in the state tournament starting February 14th.
