2/9/24
The winter storms have forced most of our local teams to cancel their games this week. The exception to that is the Embry-Riddle men’s and women’s basketball teams. They were able to get in their games Thursday night . . . though it was easier for them to do it as they were in Angwin, California to take on Pacific Union.
The Riddle women exploded out of the gate for a 22-9 first quarter lead and went on to erase the Pioneers 77-50. Zakiirah King and Nicole Evanson both tallied eleven points. Ella Schott and Micaela Hidalgo both posted eight points.
Pac-Union also proved no problem for the Embry-Riddle men as they got the deke 94-77. Jake Klingler notched 22 points. Christmas Togiai recorded 19 points, Demari Hackett put up 18 points, and Dennis Pomazanov netted 14 points.
The Riddle men are 6-16 on the season, but have won four of their last six games. The Riddle women are 12-11 and are on a four-game winning streak. Both teams are at Cal Maritime tomorrow.
