ERAU Basketball Teams Vanquish Cal Maritime


The Embry-Riddle basketball teams are certainly getting hot at the right time. Both squads were in California Saturday to face Cal Maritime. The men staked out a big lead in the first half and did not relinquish it as they sank the Keelhaulers 76-63. That’s the Eagles third win in a row, and they have now won five of their last seven games. Dennis Pomazanov recorded 18 points and ten rebounds, Christmas Togiai netted 17 points, and David Teibo grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Embry-Riddle women extended their winning streak to five in a row with a 90-61 pounding of Cal Maritime Saturday. Hannah Urbano notched 15 points, Aryana Gonzales and Kate McBride both put up 12 points, and Liz Behan snagged 13 rebounds.

The Riddle men are 7-16 overall and 6-10 in Cal Pac play, putting them in a sixth place tie with Simpson in the conference. The Riddle women are 13-11 overall and 11-5 in the Cal Pac, tying them for third in the standings with Park University.
