The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan for overnight lane closures and restrictions on I-17 during the upcoming week. The restrictions will begin tonight and end Friday morning as work continues on the I-17 Improvement Project between Anthem Way and Sunset Point. Expect delays of at least one hour and backups of about two miles as I-17 will be closed in both directions for rock blasting operations from 10 PM to 11 PM Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

There will be no construction-related traffic restrictions on I-17 between Anthem Way and Sunset Point from 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in observance of Presidents Day.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, drive with caution, and reduce their speed around construction personnel and equipment while the following closures and restrictions are in place:
