Prescott Boys Basketball Begins Post Season in Open Division Tournament

The tournament they participated in at the end of December has gotten the Prescott Boys Basketball Team ready for what lies ahead at state. That’s what Coach Travis Stedman said on the eve of the first round of the open state tournament. He explained the Badgers took on some top caliber teams at the San Diego Holiday Classic – coming away from it with a 3-1 record. That showed them they have what it takes to compete at an elite level, like the open division, with teams from the 4A, 5A, and 6A conferences.

Prescott, the number 24 seed, will be in Phoenix tomorrow to take on Brophy, the number nine seed. The Broncos go into the game with a 15-10 overall record, and have won six of their last seven games. The Badgers, meanwhile, is 22-3 overall and are on a 13-game winning streak.

Tip-off is 7 PM, and KYCA will broadcast and livestream the game.
