ERAU Wrestling in for a Fight at CCC Tournament


Who will win the championship in the toughest conference for wrestling in the NAIA? Embry-Riddle hopes it will be them taking the crown. The Eagles are in La Grande, Oregon for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament, which begins today. Six CCC teams are ranked in the top 20 in the national rankings. Riddle is number eleven. Menlo College is number three, Providence number four, Southern Oregon number 14, Eastern Oregon number 19, and Montana State-Northern number 20.

Two wrestlers in the conference are also number one in the nation in their weight classes. One is Embry-Riddle’s Keller Rock at 165 pounds, the other is Southern Oregon’s Evan Potter at 141 pounds. Within the Cascade Collegiate Conference, Riddle’s Jonah Chew is number one at 149 pounds, Carson Coy – the defending conference champion at 141 pounds – is number two, and Allan Hendricks is number three at 125 pounds.

The championship tournament runs through tomorrow.
