Prescott Police Give Update on Local Contractor Arrested on Fraud Charges

The Prescott Police Department has more information on last month’s arrest of a local contractor.

On January 30, police arrested 40-year-old Jessica Anderson of Prescott Valley, who is the part-owner of Anderson Asphalt Service and Contracting LLC. Multiple victims had reported that between January 2022 and August 2023, Anderson Asphalt had received payments for work that was not completed. It was also reported that other work was completed by subcontractors of Anderson Asphalt who were then never paid for their services. The investigation uncovered forged documents used to facilitate the fraud scheme. The total amount defrauded from the victims in this case was approximately $30,000.

Anderson was booked into the Yavapai County Jail in Prescott on charges of fraudulent schemes, forgery, and criminal impersonation. The case has also been forwarded to the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office for further review of charges against the other owner of the business.

The Arizona Registrar of Contractors assisted in this investigation and received a complaint related to it. The contractor’s license for Anderson Asphalt Service and Contracting LLC was revoked in April 2023.
