Bradshaw Mt Boys Basketball Falls to Mesquite in 4A State Opener


The Bradshaw Mountain boys basketball team knew it was in for a challenge to start the 4A conference state tournament. The number 15 Bears traveled down to Gilbert to face the number two-ranked Mesquite. Bradshaw was right there with them in the first quarter as it ended with the Bears trailing 9-5. Then the Wildcats went on a huge run and went into halftime with a 36-14 lead. Bradshaw Mountain couldn’t get out of the hole and lost to Mesquite 68-42 Wednesday.

Mason Hunt led the way for the Bears offensively with 25 points. Bradshaw wraps up the 2023-2024 season with an overall record of 18-9.

The Wildcats move on to the Elite Eight of state. They will face the number seven-ranked Thunderbird Friday. T-Bird got the better of number ten Salpointe Catholic 70-58 Wednesday.
