The Mayer Unified School District Governing Board has a new member. Susan Spigelmire was appointed to the board by Yavapai County Schools Superintendent Tim Carter. She will serve out the remainder of Becky Young’s term. Young resigned from the board, but gave no reason for her departure.

Spigelmire was one of five qualified candidates who submitted a letter of interest for the position. Her appointment took effect today. Spigelmire has indicated she will run for a full term on the board during this election cycle. Young’s term was set to expire at the end of this year.
