Sports Extra February 27th, 2024; Local Scores and ERAU Golf Signing


Local scoreboard from yesterday, the Prescott softball team edged out Paradise Honors 1-0. Riley Crockett had a solo home run. RJ Parra threw a two-hitter, striking out nine.

Congratulations to Dennis Pomazanov of the Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team. He was named the Cal Pac Conference Player of the Week. He had two double-doubles in the Eagles’ final two games of the regular season.

Another Prescott golfer is headed to Embry-Riddle. Evan Cross, who finished 28th at the state tournament, has signed with the university. He will join ex-Badger Scotty Jackson, who is in his freshman season with the Eagles.

Local scoreboard from this past weekend, in basketball, Yavapai College dropped a pair to Eastern Arizona 82-55 and 102-70. Ryan Glasgow put up 26 points in the second game. Ladies, Yavapai College fell to Eastern Arizona 61-56 and 60-54. Olivia Arvallo recorded 12 points and nine assists in game one.

Baseball, Embry-Riddle went 2-1 versus Antelope Valley. Owen Cain homered and drove in four runs in the first game. Bradshaw Mountain finished the Decombs Invitational with a 2-2 record. Chino Valley concluded the Cougar Tournament with a 1-3 record.

The Prescott softball team went 3-1 at the Sunrise Mountain Invitational.

At the South Mountain Track and Field Classic, Chino Valley’s Brody Ryan was second in the boys 300 hurdles and set a new school record. Prescott’s Violet Williams was fourth in the girls 100 meter sprint.
