Local scoreboard from yesterday, five members of the Embry-Riddle Wrestling team advanced to day two of the NAIA National Tournament. They are Landon Smith, Jonah Chew, Keller Rock, Daniil Gorshkov, and Kenneth Copley.

Baseball, Chino Valley outlasted Winslow 11-8. Josh Easton drove in three runs.

Softball, Prescott shutout Scottsdale Saguaro 2-0. RJ Parra threw a two-hitter, striking out 17.

Tennis, for the boys, Prescott edged out Lee Williams 5-4. Bradshaw Mountain dispatched Independence 7-2. Girls, Prescott got clipped by Lee Williams 5-4. Bradshaw Mountain lost to Independence 8-1.

The Prescott boys volleyball team got swept by Estrella Foothills 3-0. Zane Gaul tallied 16 kills and 15 digs.

It’s official. Prescott High School is getting a girls flag football team. They will begin play next school year.
