No rock blasting is scheduled on I-17 this week, but motorists will still have to deal with overnight lane restrictions. Both the north and southbound lanes between Black Canyon City and New River Road will be narrowed to one lane through Saturday. Crews are performing earthwork and electrical work, and installing temporary concrete barriers.

Motorists should be aware of construction equipment and personnel on this stretch of I-17 and be mindful of the reduced speed limit. This is part of the I-17 improvement project, which should be finished sometime next year.
