Embry-Riddle W Basketball Upends Antelope Valley in Cal Pac Title Game

A few years ago, they came up short to Antelope Valley in the Cal Pac Championship game. This year, however, would be much different for the Embry-Riddle women’s basketball team. They started out strong, and they ended strong with a 28-point fourth quarter to overpower the Lady Pioneers 81-58 last night to win the Cal Pac Conference Championship.

Mehgan Strickler went off for 22 points and 15 rebounds. Aryana Gonzales tallied 19 points. Zakiirah King posted 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Susie Reynoso registered 16 points and eight rebounds.

This is the first conference championship in the history of Embry-Riddle women’s basketball, and it will be their only Cal Pac title as next year the university will move to the GSAC. Next up for the Lady Eagles, they compete in the NAIA National Tournament, which begins March 15th.
