They may have lost their final ten games of the regular season, but you can throw all that out the window as the Yavapai College men’s basketball team will start anew. The Roughriders will take part in the Region One Tournament starting tomorrow. YC is the number four seed and will face number one Eastern Arizona in Thatcher. The Gila Monsters are 24-6 and the Roughriders are 11-19. In their regular season series, Eastern Arizona swept all four games versus Yavapai. Tip-off is 7 PM.

Meanwhile, the NAIA women’s basketball national tournament begins next Friday. Embry-Riddle will take part in the Helena bracket and will start off against Carroll College. The Fighting Saints are 24-5 on the season, while the Lady Eagles are 19-12 and Cal Pac Conference champions. Both teams met during the regular season in November, with Carroll coming away 61-46 winners.

This is Riddle’s first trip to the national tournament.
