An excursion to Kingman was just what the Prescott baseball team needed to put them on the path to success. In the opening game of the Route 66 Classic Friday, the Badgers got off to a dominating start with a ten-run third inning en route to a 14-2 thrashing of Kingman. Brendan Costes went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Cooper Magnett and Luke Tobin both doubled and drove in two runs. Colton Champion went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Nick Martin also drove in two runs. Adrian Sanderford was the winning pitcher.
Prescott also had another lopsided win Friday with an 11-3 victory over Pahrump Valley. Magnett had three RBIs, and Andrew Lyon and Jack Burton both drove in two runs. On Saturday, the Badgers also defeated River Valley and Doral Academy to go 4-0 at the tournament.
Prescott is back home today to face Scottsdale Saguaro.
