They went 5-2 and finished as the runners-up in their bracket at the Wrangler Classic this past weekend. That success carried over to the Chino Valley softball team’s double-header Monday versus Fountain Hills. The Lady Cougars annihilated the Lady Falcons in Game One 27-2. Breanne Petty was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts. At the plate, she hit for the cycle, drove in six runs, and scored four runs. Jamie Felton had five RBIs.

Game Two was another blowout win for Chino Valley, final score 14-2. Mackenzie Sanders was the winning pitcher, striking out five. She also drove in three runs. Ashley Morrow and Ali Estala both collected three RBIs.

Chino’s overall record is now 7-6. They play in another tournament this weekend. The Lady Cougars head west to participate in the Kingman High School Invitational.

Also, congratulations to Jamie Felton of the Chino Valley softball team. She was named the best defensive player at the Wrangler Classic this past weekend. The Lady Cougars finished as runners-up in their bracket at the tournament.
