Prescott Valley Woman Sentenced in Shooting Death of Boyfriend

3/12/24

A Prescott Valley woman convicted of manslaughter was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Judge Krista Carmen last Friday.

Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane said an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office revealed 45-year-old Shannon Marie Jackson shot and killed her boyfriend of several years on December 27, 2021 in their Prescott-area home. Jackson described the incident as a verbal dispute that boiled over after several years of domestic violence. Sheriff’s detectives found little evidence of physical abuse on the day of the incident, and Jackson admitted she had never reported past incidents of abuse.
