Several Local Players Land on All-Region Boys Basketball Team


With the season he had, it’s no surprise he got this award. Uriah Tenette of the Prescott Boys Basketball Team was named the Grand Canyon Region Overall Player of the Year and the Region Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row. He averaged 31.4 points per game, putting him at number 25 in the nation in scoring. He also had 157 rebounds, 124 assists, and 76 steals.

Other all-region selections for the Badgers: Zane Gaul made the first team, Josiah Peoples made the second team, Coley Fundalewicz and Cooper Magnett were honorable mentions, and Travis Stedman was named the Region Coach of the Year. For Bradshaw Mountain, Mason Hunt made the all-region first team, Preston Ranniker was a second team selection, and Mauricio Holguin and Jayden Blasczyk were honorable mentions.

For the 3A North Central Region, Chino Valley’s Javier Johns made the first team, Ben Sibole made the second team, and Landon Smith and Hector Vasquez were honorable mentions.

In the 1A Central Region, Mayer’s Earl Williams was a first team selection, and Jaden Garcia and Tanner Carlise made the second team.
