CAFMA Offers Driving Tips to Prevent Wildfires

3/27/24

As this is Southwest Wildfire Awareness Week, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority officials are urging people to take precautions while driving so they do not start roadside fires.

The first is do not throw your cigarette butts out your car window. If you have tow chains, keep them secure as they can create sparks if being dragged along the road. If you have to pull off the road, do not park in grassy areas. The undercarriage of your vehicle is extremely hot and can ignite vegetation.
