Fire Destroys Apartment Complex Under Construction in PV

4/1/24

A massive early morning fire erupted in downtown Prescott Valley, decimating a major apartment construction project. Kathy Goodman from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority said emergency units swiftly responded to a reported loud bang at 1:13 a.m. on Monday at the Legado Luxury Apartment construction site in downtown Prescott Valley.

Firefighters arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. Prescott Valley police evacuated four sections of the Homestead at Talking Glass Apartments nearby. Those residents were taken to the Bradshaw Mountain East Campus on Robert Road, where a temporary shelter has been set up. Some residents of Talking Glass have been allowed to return to their homes.

Units from CAFMA and the Prescott Fire Department remain on the scene this morning to deal with the fire. Florentine Rd. from Glassford Hill Rd. to Lake Valley Rd. remains closed, along with Centre Court at Pav Way.

Goodman stated personnel from the ATF will be on-site later this morning as part of the investigation. The Legado Luxury Apartments construction site has been declared a total loss. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries at this time.
