It was a close game . . . for a bit. The Bradshaw Mountain softball team had a 3-1 lead over Mohave after two innings. Then came a tsunami of runs by the Lady Bears, culminating in a 14-1 shellacking of the Lady Thunderbirds in Bullhead City Monday.
“Code Red” Kodie Statler had a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Jaslene Valentine drove in three runs. Kodie Scharrer had two RBIs. In the circle, Eliza Legge got the win, striking out seven while allowing just two hits. At the plate, she went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The win puts Bradshaw Mountain’s overall record at 8-5 for the season and 3-1 in Grand Canyon Region play. Tomorrow is the rematch between the Lady Bears and the Lady Thunderbirds. First pitch is 3:45 p.m. from Bradshaw Mountain High School.
