Along with success on the court and the mat, these Embry-Riddle athletes also scored a lot of success in the classroom. So much of it that they were named NAIA scholar-athletes for the winter sports season. Nine members of the Cal Pac champion women’s basketball team received the honor. They are Ella Schott, Grace Meshanko, Hannah Urbano, Kate McBride, Mehgan Strickler, Micaela Hidalgo, Susie Reynoso, Sydney Mickulin, and Liz Behan.
The wrestling team had six NAIA scholar-athletes: Adam Stanley, Brodie Scott, Carson Coy, Chino Valley alum Colby Evens, Daniil Gorshkov, and Jonah Chew.
Five men’s basketball players received the honor: Rhys McVay, Dennis Pomazanov, Gabe Estebanes, Christmas Togiai, and Jake Klingler. Eligible athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be named an NAIA scholar-athlete.
