Time to honor those winter athletes who had the highest GPAs on their teams by naming them to the KYCA All-Area Academic Team.
Prescott’s top scholar-athletes were basketball’s Cooper Magnett and Ashley Cunningham, soccer’s Mallory Walsh, and wrestling’s Eli Allen, Dayton Shelton, and Natalie Nyyti.
Bradshaw Mountain’s top grades went to basketball’s Mason Brambila and Maggie Grzelak, soccer’s Kadyn Maynard and Tatum Johnson, and wrestling’s Riley Nollett.
Getting high marks for Mayer basketball were Santiago Torres, Sean Valenzuela, and Danni McCann.
Yavapai College had 4.0 performances from basketball’s Kieran Carr, Saydee Allred, and Ellie Bennett.
Embry-Riddle’s best in the classroom were basketball’s Christmas Togiai, Liz Behan, Susie Reynoso, and Kate McBride, and wrestling’s Jonah Chew, Daniil Gorshkov, Brodie Scott, Colby Evens, Jaren Kimura, Anthony Pavolv-Ramirez, and Sam Humphrey.
