Cleanup efforts continue at the Circle K in Chino Valley following an underground fuel tank leak earlier this year. The Town Council Tuesday received an update on the cleanup activities. It was reported that several drinking water wells in the area have been tested during the past couple of months. So far, no contaminants have been discovered.
A soil vapor extraction method has been used to remove and destroy contaminants from the land around the Circle K on Highway 89. Cleanup efforts should be finished soon, and groundwater monitoring will continue for some time.
