Game number two in the opening round of the NAIA World Series Tuesday looked like it would be a challenge for the Embry-Riddle softball team. They faced off against number five ranked Oregon Tech. But the Lady Eagles were up to the challenge as they took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a bases-loaded hit by pitch to Emma Almadoba. The Lady Owls then scored runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
In the top of the seventh, Diana Miranda-Montano had a two-run double to tie the score. But in the bottom of the eighth, Lexi Klum had a walk-off sac fly to give Oregon Tech the 4-3 win.
Maddie Judge went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Eagles. Embry-Riddle is still in the World Series mix. They take on St. Thomas today in an elimination game.
