Tri-City area motorists won’t have to deal with road closures during the Memorial Day holiday. ADOT officials say no closures will take place on state highways from Friday through Monday. Still, if you are traveling over the Memorial Day holiday, ADOT wants to make sure you do so safely.
You should be prepared for hot weather, especially if you are going to the Phoenix area, where temperatures will be in the 90s over the weekend. Make sure you bring extra water and snacks with you, check your vehicle before you leave, and always get plenty of rest before you hit the road.
Warmer temperatures also mean a greater risk of wildfires, so do not park on grassy areas and do not throw cigarette butts out your car window. Most importantly, never drive while impaired.
