As summer approaches, more people will be driving around in off-highway vehicles. The city of Prescott is urging everyone to be mindful of how they use their OHVs. City officials want drivers to stay on designated trails and not drive through dry grass or brush, as heat from the vehicle could ignite the vegetation and start a wildfire.
Also, make sure the vehicle’s exhaust system is in good condition to prevent sparks or hot exhaust from lighting grass and brush on fire. You should also carry a fire extinguisher to quickly put out any small fires.
