No change in Yavapai County’s drought conditions from last week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the county is abnormally dry. A small section in the southern part of the county around Black Canyon City and a portion of northwestern Yavapai County near Seligman are both in moderate drought.
As for the rest of Arizona, more than half the state is abnormally dry. The southeastern part of the state is in either moderate drought or severe drought.
Because of the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is very high. Visitors to the forest should be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
