The Chino Valley volleyball team was hanging on by its fingernails in last night’s match at River Valley. After losing the first set 25-4 and taking set number two 25-23, the Lady Cougars dropped the third set 25-19, putting them one loss away from boarding the bus back to Chino. But they clawed out a 26-24 win in set four, then in a hard-fought fifth set, overcame the Lady Dust Devils for the 15-12 victory to take the match 3-2.
Eva Sanchez posted ten kills, seven digs, and four ace serves for Chino. Brookelyn Little recorded 15 assists, four kills, and four aces. Avery Bradshaw served 13 aces, and Jayden Vander Molen and Toby Russler both had three blocks.
Chino Valley is now 2-5 in its power point matches. They are back home tomorrow when they take on Kingman. Then on Thursday, the Lady Cougars hit the road again for a match at Highland Prep.
