They picked up their first Grand Canyon Region win last week when they topped Coconino. Last night the Prescott volleyball team faced another region rival in Lee Williams. The Lady Badgers owned the first set with a 25-12 victory. But the Lady Volunteers woke up in the second set and gave Prescott a heck of a battle. Still, the blue and gold got the win 25-23. Set three was another nail-biter, but the Lady Badgers got by Lee Williams 27-25 to complete the three-set sweep.
Bella Abt notched 14 kills for Prescott. “The Gem” Ruby Jensen garnered seven kills. Ray Bennett made 26 digs and served five aces.
The Lady Badgers are 5-1 in their power point matches and 2-0 in Grand Canyon Region play. They have two more matches this week. Tomorrow they host Flagstaff, who is undefeated on the season. Then on Thursday, Prescott travels to Cottonwood to face Mingus.
Also on the volleyball court last night, Bradshaw Mountain lost to Flagstaff 3-0.
