Two Wildfires Burning in Yavapai County

Prescott National Forest officials report the Wasson Peak Fire near Crown King is now at 17 acres in size. The blaze began Monday due to lightning from a passing storm. Firefighters are putting up a line around the fire to halt further spread. Meanwhile, the Muldoon Fire on the north side of Towers Mountain is holding at one acre. That fire was also lightning-caused.

No structures are threatened by either fire, and no evacuation orders have been issued. Forest Service officials ask the public to avoid Forest Road 92. Also, if you are traveling to Crown King, be alert as fire equipment will be on the roads.
