Many of our local high school basketball teams return to the hardwood today for their season openers. The Bradshaw Mountain boys play game number one of the 2024-2025 campaign at home versus Peoria. The Bears are coming off a 17-8 record last season and have a new head coach, former Chino Valley bench boss Clint Cross. The Bradshaw girls, meanwhile, open the season at Peoria. The Lady Bears look to rebound from a 9-15 record last season.
The Chino Valley boys tip off at home tonight versus Winslow. The Cougars went 5-15 last season. The Lady Cougars also begin their season at home versus Winslow. They will try to improve on their 5-16 mark from last season.
Finally, the Mayer boys, with new head coach Cory McLean, are on the road at BASIS Flagstaff to open the season. The Wildcats hope to rebound from their 5-19 record last season.
