During the football season, he was named the Arizona Cardinals High School Player of the Week. Now, Uriah Tenette is in line for another big “of the week” honor. He is one of 18 players from across the country up for the Sports Illustrated High School Player of the Week award.
Tenette, last season’s Co-4A Conference Player of the Year, scored 54 points in the Prescott boys’ basketball team’s 93-86 victory over Chatsworth last Friday at the Damien Classic in La Verne, California. That 54-point performance set a single-game scoring record for the Badgers.
Also on the national Player of the Week candidate list is Alijah Arenas, son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas. He notched 56 points in that Prescott/Chatsworth game.
