Cottonwood Police, Jail Staff Keep Finding Drugs on Suspect

Cottonwood police made a surprising discovery once they took a suspect to jail. Police officials report officers pulled over 33-year-old Amanda Loomis for a traffic violation at a gas station on Main Street last Thursday. A K9 conducted a search of the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. Five grams of meth was discovered, along with scales, plastic bags, and other drug paraphernalia.

Loomis and her passenger, 33-year-old Jeffrey Johnson, were arrested on drug charges. When the pair arrived at Cottonwood Police Headquarters, officers found more meth in the prisoner compartment of the patrol car. A search of Loomis turned up additional drugs and drug paraphernalia on her person.

After she was taken to the Yavapai County Jail, the staff also searched Loomis and found another bag of meth concealed in her underpants.
