The Prescott girls’ soccer team took their shot at a state championship Saturday. Standing in their way was a team that had won state titles on ten previous occasions, Salpointe Catholic. It was a defensive-minded game for the first 70 minutes until the Lady Lancers finally scored. The Lady Badgers had several chances to tie the score, but couldn’t convert, and lost 1-0. Prescott concludes the season with a record of 13-3-1 and state runners-up.
Also on Saturday, the Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team faced The Master’s University in the GSAC semi-finals. The Eagles took the number eight ranked Mustangs down to the wire, but Kendall Moore’s jumper with three seconds left in regulation gave The Master’s the 87-85 win. Peter Dress registered 21 points for Riddle and Noah Gifft put up 17 points.
