After a rough weekend that saw them get swept by Eastern Arizona, the Yavapai College softball team was eager to take out their frustrations on somebody. That somebody happened to be Western Nebraska. The Lady Riders jumped on the Lady Cougars early and did not let up, getting the win in game one 9-1. Gracie Firth drove in three runs. Olivia Boswell had two RBIs. Chino Valley grad Breanne Petty was the winning pitcher, throwing four scoreless, hitless innings.
YC was even more dominant in game two, dispatching Western Nebraska 11-0. Tamryn Tucker had two doubles and three RBIs. Kylie Sam and Emmersyn Villa both drove in two runs apiece. Mackenzie Durr fanned eight in a winning effort.
The Lady Cougars did not get a hit in either game.
Yavapai is now 10-8 on the season.
