Local scoreboard from yesterday, in baseball, Yavapai College swept Central Arizona 1-0 and 12-6. Justin Cherrington homered and drove in five runs in game two.
In softball, Bradshaw Mountain got shut out by Flagstaff 9-0.
In golf, the Embry-Riddle men finished 18th at the Palm Valley Classic. Robert Brackett came in 25th place. Chino Valley placed fourth at the Camp Verde multi-meet.
In tennis, for the boys, Prescott dealt with Deer Valley 7-2. Bradshaw Mountain derailed Goldwater 9-0. For the girls, Prescott drubbed Deer Valley 9-0.
Congratulations to Mallory Walsh. The goalkeeper for the Prescott girls soccer team was an honorable mention in The Arizona Republic’s all-state team. She was the only player from the Grand Canyon Region to be named to the Republic’s list.
