ERAU Softball, PHS Tennis Teams Begin Post-Season Runs

A lot of post-season action is on tap for this week. At the forefront is the Great Southwest Athletic Conference softball championship tournament, hosted by Embry-Riddle. The Lady Eagles go into it as the number two seed and will face number three seed Arizona Christian to start things off. First pitch for that game is noon today. Riddle took three of four from ACU in their regular season series.

Also in the tournament are number one seed Hope International and number four seed Park. They play at 3 p.m. today. The tournament runs through Thursday.

The state team tennis tournaments also begin today. Number eleven Prescott travels to number six Flagstaff. In their regular season meeting on April 17, the Lady Badgers came up short to the Lady Eagles, 5-4.

The Prescott boys, meanwhile, host an opening round state match. The number eight Badgers host number nine Shadow Mountain tomorrow. In addition, the state singles and doubles tournament for boys and girls tennis takes place Friday and Saturday down in the Valley.
