Don’t be concerned if you see smoke along one portion of I-17 in Yavapai County. Prescott National Forest crews will conduct a prescribed burn Tuesday in the Verde Ranger District between Dugas Road and Highway 169 along the east side of the interstate.
The burn will encompass 915 acres of grass fuels. Along with reducing the risk of a catastrophic wildfire, the burn also aims to improve the health of the local ecosystem. The prescribed burn is expected to last just one day.
