She had a lot of options to weigh after her graduation from Yavapai College, but Megan Townsend has made her decision. She will continue playing soccer at Doane University. During her two years with the Lady Riders, Townsend appeared in 26 games, recording four goals and four assists. Off the pitch, she received Yavapai’s Excellence in Sociology Award.
Prior to Yavapai, Townsend played for Prescott High School, where in her senior season she posted 12 goals and four assists and was named an All-Grand Canyon Region honorable mention. Townsend was also part of the Prescott badminton team and was the Division Two state runner-up in her senior year.
Her new school, Doane University, is an NAIA school located in Crete, Nebraska. Last season, the Lady Tigers went 7-8-4 and qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament.
