An ex-Embry-Riddle baseball player is not done playing. In fact, he just started his professional career. Jonah Montes recently signed with the Ogden Raptors. A former rookie ball team affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Raptors are with the independent Pioneer League and were league champions in 2023.
During his four years with Embry-Riddle, the Upland, California native went 9–11 with a 6.56 ERA, four saves, 141 strikeouts, and 84 walks in 157 innings. In 2024, Montes was named to the All-Cal Pac First Team and the All-Cal Pac Defensive Team while helping the Eagles win the conference championship and qualify for the NAIA World Series for the first time in program history.
Montes graduated in May with a degree in global security and intelligence studies. He was also part of the Air Force ROTC program.
