A truck burst into flames on I-40 near Seligman Tuesday. Officials with the Seligman Fire District report the truck was hauling pallets of Sterno when it caught fire. This resulted in small explosions and spot fires occurring in and around the truck.
Due to the highly flammable nature of the chemical, firefighters decided to let the trailer burn and concentrate on preventing flames from spreading beyond the vehicle. That part of eastbound I-40 was shut down until the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not known.
