Yavapai County Community Health Services is alerting the public to another food recall. Sprout Organics has issued a voluntary recall of its sweet potato, apple, and spinach baby food pouches, citing possible elevated levels of lead.
The 3.5-ounce product was sold primarily in Walgreens and select independent stores across the southern United States. No illnesses have been reported, but officials warn that even low levels of lead can increase lead levels in blood, especially with repeated exposure. If you have Sprout Organics sweet potato, apple, and spinach baby food pouches, either throw them out or return them to the store you purchased them from.
No other Sprout Organics products are impacted by this recall.
